Radiology Technicians
CT Technologist Responsibilities:
- Using computerized tomography equipment to capture diagnostic images of patients’ internal organs and tissues.
- Appropriately positioning patients to scan specific areas of their bodies.
- Performing regular warm-up sequences on the CT scanner to prolong the life of the X-ray tubes.
- Sterilizing radiologic equipment to ensure the safety of patients.
- Correctly interpreting doctors' written scanning instructions.
- Administering radiocontrast agents to patients to enhance the visibility of internal organs and tissues.
- Evaluating CT scans to determine whether they are of good technical quality.
- Explaining scanning procedures to patients and providing reassurance and support as required.
- Identifies patient service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand service requirements.
- Ensures operation of radiology and computerized tomography equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
- Maintains radiology and CT supply inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions
CT Technologist Requirements:
- State license to work as a CT technologist.
- Certified by the American Registry of radiologic technologists (ARRT).
- Proven experience working as a CT technologist.
- CPR and BLS certification.
Mammography Technologist
Responsible for detecting breast tissue abnormalities by completing mammographic imaging studies; presenting them for diagnosis. Greets patients by confirming patient identification, reviewing imaging requests, checking for special instructions and confirming anticipated service withpatients. Conducts mammography study by positioning breasts, adjusting compression.
- Reviews procedures to ensure that they are being performed in a manner consistent with defined protocols and standards; assists management in the development of departmental policies and procedures pertaining to personnel, supplies, equipment and patient care.
- Comply with all clinical procedures and regulations and ensuring that team members do the same.
- Work to uphold the reputation of the clinical environment by maintaining a professional demeanor at all times and strengthening the clinic’s ties with other leaders in the medical radiology field.
- Schedules and coordinates equipment maintenance or repair as needed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- 1 -3 years of experience in clinical radiology & hands-on hospital experience
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in radiography, equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
