Rail Coordinator - Downtown Houston (hybrid schedule)The Rail Coordinator will support the Manager Fleet and Operations in the day-to-day operations of managing the companys rail fleet. This role involves communicating with various departments, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, maintaining records, processing rail freight payments, and assisting in the efficient allocation and utilization of rail assets. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
- Assist the Manager Fleet and Operations with Railroads/Suppliers/Customers (hereafter customers) and other relevant companies to schedule, monitor, prepare documentation, and keep track of account receivables/payables associated with each railcar shipment.
- Communicate with the marketing managers of the department, to support the execution and performance of structural and spot contracts.
- Support the scheduling/monitoring/documentation of other logistic coordinators who are responsible for vessel/barge/truck.
- Assist in scheduling and dispatching railcars to meet customer requirements.
- Support maintenance teams to ensure timely inspections, repairs, and maintenance of railcars.
- Maintain accurate records of railcar movements, maintenance, and inspections. Update internal databases with relevant information.
- Assist the Manager Fleet and Operations, customers, vendors, and other internal departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Identify any issues related to railcar availability, scheduling conflicts, or other operational challenges and escalate to the Manager Fleet and Operations.
- Process payments for rail freight services. Ensure timely and accurate payments, resolve discrepancies, and maintain thorough records of all transactions.
- Maintain and process Bills of Lading (BOLs), orders, and related information formonth-end invoicing. Handle the invoicing process for all shipped orders.
- Track customer sitting and provide data to PIC, and commercial management.
Qualifications:
- Years of Experience At least 1 to 4 years of relevant experience.
- Petrochemicals experience is highly preferred.
- Education Associates degree
- Languages English
- Computer skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft applications.
- Communication skills to interact effectively with counterparts internally and externally.
- Basic calculation skills.
- Basic knowledge of rail operations.
