Railroad Transportation/Logistics Coordinator - Aspen Personnel Service

About the Job
Growing agricultural company has partnered with Aspen Personnel Service to find a dependable, detail-oriented, and experienced individual to join their team as a Railroad Transportation/Logistics Coordinator.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate, enter, and resolve issues with railroad waybills.
- Manage dispatch, coordination, tracking, and distribution of daily updates for leased and privately-owned rail fleet.
- Collect necessary documentation to facilitate the movement of contracted commodities.
- Coordinate with rail vendors, resolve issues, and match invoices.
- Collaborate with the supply chain manager and merchandising team to implement grain materials movement and management strategies.
- Participate in rail planning discussions.
- Track and mitigate demurrage costs.
- Coordinate 3PL shipments, damaged product handling, and dunnage returns.
- Monitor and update rail rates within the company ERP and support systems.
- Reconcile and process railroad invoices.
- Communicate daily with internal departments, railroads, customers, and 3PLs.
- Perform data mining and other assigned projects.
- Cross-train to provide coverage for the inbound coordinator during their PTO.
- Offer support to team members as needed.
Skills and Experience:
- An Associate's degree is preferred, or a comparable mix of education and experience.
- At least 2 years of experience in dispatch and logistics, ideally within the consumer goods manufacturing sector.
- Railroad logistics experience is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts and basic accounting knowledge.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Explorer, Microsoft Outlook, and MRP systems.
- Able to adapt to a dynamic environment and varying workloads.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Self-driven, team-focused, with excellent communication skills.
Full-Time Hybrid:
- Monday – Friday
- This position offers a hybrid work environment after fully trained
- 40 hours per week with potential overtime available.
Compensation:
- $24 - $28 per hour
