Position Information:The College of Health and Wellness at NWHSU is pleased to offer a faculty position in our Radiologic Technology program. NWHSU utilizes a dedicated positioning lab with new equipment to support instruction within the program. Duties include teaching through online and in-person educational models, provide frequent and formative feedback to the students, perform assessments aligned with course objectives and assisting in course management. The faculty member will have the opportunity to leverage their expertise to help make continuous improvements to the curriculum.

We are seeking an individual who embraces the ever-changing landscape of education, can provide course delivery through both in-person and virtual platforms, enjoys working with a team of committed individuals, and who is student-centered in their approach to education. The eventual goal is for the program to apply for and attain JRCERT (Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology) accreditation. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, has excellent communication skills, works well within a collaborative environment, and is highly motivated toward teaching as a profession, and a willing partner in that effort.
This is a year-round, faculty position where academic rank and compensation will be determined by qualifications and experience. This position has been both full-time and part-time employment opportunities.
Work Location: Bloomington, MN with flexibility to work 1-2 days per week remotely; must live local and be able to come to campus as needed.
Relocation: Relocation assistance is available for this position.
Course Assignment May Include:
Courses may include but not be limited to Intro to Radiologic Technology and Patient Care Lecture, Radiologic Procedures II Lecture and Lab, and Radiologic Procedures III Lab. Specific courses will be assigned within the department to best align with the expertise of each faculty member and the needs of the University.
Duties:
- Design, develop, and deliver course specific information in a way that enhances the student learning experience.
- Provide student instruction and assessment in a variety of methods both virtual and in-person.
- Review outcomes and modify teaching methods appropriately.
- Maintain course specific materials in the learning management system (Moodle); course notes, assessments, syllabi, grades, etc.
- Collaborate in the development of new courses, or in updating current courses.
- Participate in student mentorship as assigned by the college.
- Participate in faculty governance and other committee work, as assigned.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and scholarly activity within and outside of the University.
- Work to promote a student-centered approach to teaching which maintains academic excellence.
- Respond to student concerns regarding department faculty and courses and attempt to resolve concerns according to established processes
- Maintain a responsive and respectful student learning experience
What you need to have?
- Associate degree, required
- Bachelor's degree, preferred; tuition reimbursement/remission is available to support completion of a bachelor's degree
- Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification and registration in good standing
- Clinical experience
- Capacity for successful course development, instruction, evaluation, and academic advising; previous teaching experience preferred.
- A passion for teaching and commitment to student success
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office suite applications
- Experience with the use of learning management platforms; Moodle is preferred
