About the Position We have an opening for a Residential Specialist at our Rental Assistance Program (RAP) in the Portland area, to work specifically within Clackamas County. Residential Specialists are considered the subject matter expert on accessing resources to obtain housing and completion of all applications and accompanying documents. They work directly with clients by assisting them to navigate very complex systems such as rental applications and requirements, HUD/alternative subsidy applications, benefits systems, public transportation, etc. Residential Specialists will provide ongoing support to clients in terms of psychiatric stability and symptom management. Travel within Clackamas County area using a company vehicle is required. Vocational Training ProgramFor applicants starting as a QMHA-R, ColumbiaCare offers a Vocational Training Program to accelerate the training, on-the-job experiential learning, and testing preparation for qualified employees to achieve the 1000 supervised hours required to complete their certification as a QMHA-I. Through this program, this certification can be achieved in as little as 6 months. This is an optional program. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm (Full Time, Day) What You'll Make$24.00 - $26.00 per hour DOE/Credentials. Additional 5% Language Differential offered for Bilingual or Multilingual candidates (Spanish/English desired). About the ProgramRental Assistance Program (RAP) is designed to help high-needs individuals obtain independent housing in the community. Clients who qualify have a diagnosis of serious mental illness and are stepping down from higher levels of care, such as the state hospital or a licensed treatment facility. These individuals typically face many barriers to obtaining housing and it's our focus to help them to overcome those obstacles. ColumbiaCare Services is a qualifying employer for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program. QMHA employees are also eligible to apply for the Oregon Behavioral Health Loan Repayment Program. What You'll NeedMust be eligible for Qualified Mental Health Associate (QMHA) registration. Eligibility requires 1 out of 3 Criteria below:Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Science: Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Human Development, or related field; OR minimum three (3) years of verifiable behavioral health experience working with individuals with behavioral health needs in a supervised setting; OR equivalent combination of behavioral science education in addition to satisfactory supplemental behavioral health experience and trainingBasic knowledge of the mental health system, including public and community services. If not already registered as a QMHA through the Mental Health & Addiction Certification Board of Oregon (MHACBO), we will assist you in registering within 30 days of hire. Vocational Training Program: Employees in the optional Vocational Training Program will have additional training expectations to meet the requirements for QMHA testing. Driving is an essential function of this position. Successful applicants MUST also have a valid Oregon driver's license, maintain a safe driving record, and have the ability to pass a DHS criminal background check. Physical Requirements: This position requires the ability to frequently talk, listen, use hands and fingers, sit, stand, walk, reach; as well as lift, carry, push, and pull up to 40 pounds. It may require the ability to occasionally climb stairs and ladders, bend, stoop, squat/kneel, and perform other physical tasks as applicable. In addition, you must successfully completecrisisde-escalation and CPR trainings, which require performing various physical, hands-on maneuvers and techniques. Reasonable accommodations can be made.
