Rapid Prototyping Center (RPC) Engineering
RPC is focused on the development and acceleration of experimental components and aircraft. The organizations lean structure allows for process versatility and agility to support the customer’s mission.
Our full suite of engineering and manufacturing capabilities enables support of composite bonding initiatives and assembly of major structures.
RPCs artisans are world class and offer an array of manufacturing skills and techniques. Supporting critical program initiatives through development of concept demonstrators to fabrication of flight-worthy, experimental blades, detail components, and test articles.
The team has led several key risk reduction efforts to inform and influence program decisions. In addition to leading a wide-variety of efforts across the company, RPC partners with sister-organizations to support various flight-testing initiatives.
What you’ll be doing as a Rapid Prototyping Engineer:
* The RP Engineer position involves original and creative design, analytical, development work, and superior leadership in an engineering discipline.
* Technical administrative activities are required. A recognizable specialized technical skill is essential to this position.
* Collaborate with dedicated, enthusiastic teams where differences in experiences, backgrounds, and ideas combined with a strong passion for our products take us above and beyond flight.
* Compliance with industry test standards, ISO, NAVAIR, FAA, TCA, EASA, ITAR, EAR and GCCP Safety of Flight requirements.
* Exercise engineering methods to evaluate new processes and techniques for building complex experimental components and assemblies.
* Influence engineering definition and best practices to improve producibility.
* Responsible for establishing, executing, and overseeing planning and builds for detail parts and assemblies for risk reduction, Process Verification, Destructive Testing, and experimental aircraft.
Qualifications
Skills You Bring To this Role:
Detailed knowledge of manufacturing technologies and engineering principles should include some, but not necessarily all of the following:
+ CAD/CAM (CATIA V6/3DX)
+ Composites Manufacturing Processes (understanding the chemical, material, and thermal processes)
+ Knowledge of various materials
+ Drilling & machining operations
+ Aerospace Design, Materials, Tooling and Processes
+ Airframe, Rotors, and/or Drive Systems Manufacturing and Assembly
+ Project Planning and Budgeting
+ Computer Networking and Applications
+ Advanced Inspection Technologies (NDI, etc) and Quality Control
+ Aerospace Business Systems/Practices
+ Additive manufacturing
+ Statistics and application of quality control principles
What you need to be successful
+ Bachelor’s degree is required. Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Aerospace, Materials Science or other closely related Engineering discipline strongly preferred
+ At least 2 years of engineering experience
+ Advanced knowledge of composite materials, aerospace structures, familiarity with aerospace industry manufacturing methods
+ Prior work experience in engineering or technical position in aerospace related field
+ Excellent interpersonal collaboration, communication, interpersonal, computer and technical writing skills are required.
