We are on the hunt for a seasoned Software Lead to be an integral part of our Research and Development team, propelling our software solutions into the forefront of material science technology. The role entails spearheading developer teams, bridging business requirements with innovative software solutions, managing risks and development roadmaps, as well as augmenting software functionality on both instrument and client platforms in a multidisciplinary setting. A proactive, solution-oriented mindset is pivotal for success in this role.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Navigating through a structured development lifecycle to deliver high-quality software.
- Offering specialized product knowledge and technical assistance to both internal teams and external users where necessary.
- Producing well-documented code and supporting materials in line with coding standards, quality assurance protocols, and procedural requirements, including adherence to the team’s definition of completion.
- Maintaining a forward-thinking approach to enhance both software quality and development processes as well as personal and professional growth.
- Contributing to the architectural design of applications, focusing on scalability, maintainability, and performance optimization.
- Designing, developing, and maintaining sophisticated application, user interface, data analysis, and instrument control software tailored for thermal analysis, rheology, and calorimetry applications.
- Guiding and collaborating with the development team to achieve project objectives and meet business needs through cross-functional partnerships.
- Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing technical and professional development.
- Integrating emerging technologies into our systems through continuous learning and engagement, ensuring our solutions remain cutting-edge.
- Ensuring consistent support and optimization of existing software, including performance tuning, diagnosis, and troubleshooting.
- Engage fully in all team discussions, offering insights, feedback, and taking responsibility for implementing improvements.
- Contribute to a culture of learning and knowledge sharing through both informal and formal settings, including training sessions and demonstrations.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred, or an equivalent mix of education, training, and practical experience.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in software development.
- Knowledge of distributed systems principles is a plus.
- Solid understanding of software engineering principles.
- Proven track record of leading successful project deliveries.
- Background in database development is a plus.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in multi-threading and task-based programming.
- Experience with Web UI development is preferred.
- Strong expertise in C#, .NET, HTML, CSS, and client-server programming.
- Familiarity with REST/Web Services is preferred.
