Ready Mix QC (Quality Control) Specialist - Ruach Resources

Position Overview:
Ruach Resources is seeking a meticulous and experienced Quality Control (QC) Manager to ensure the highest standards of quality in our ready-mix concrete production. In addition to part-time batching at one of our ready-mix plants, this role involves overseeing batchers in our Tioga and Williston locations and collaborating with our aggregate division to monitor the production and quality of sand and rock used in our concrete. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in concrete production, quality control, and management experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Quality Control Testing: Perform routine and specialized tests on concrete batches to ensure they meet required specifications, including slump, air content, temperature, and strength tests. Adjust mix designs as necessary based on test results.
• Batching Operations: Operate batching equipment on a part-time basis, ensuring the accurate measurement and mixing of materials to produce high-quality concrete. Monitor batching processes to maintain consistency and quality.
• Management Oversight: Oversee the batching operations at our Tioga and Williston plants, providing guidance and support to batchers. Ensure that batching processes adhere to company standards and industry regulations.
• Collaboration with Aggregate Division: Work closely with the aggregate division to monitor the production and quality of sand and rock used in concrete production. Ensure that all materials meet the required specifications for high-quality concrete.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all quality control tests, batch results, and adjustments made. Prepare reports for upper management and ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
• Troubleshooting: Identify any issues with mix designs, materials, or equipment that could affect product quality. Work with the plant manager and other team members to resolve problems and implement corrective actions.
• Equipment Maintenance: Assist with the maintenance and calibration of QC and batching equipment to ensure it is functioning properly. Report any equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime.
• Customer Relations: Work closely with customers to understand their quality requirements and address any concerns regarding product performance. Provide technical support and advice as needed.
• Compliance: Ensure all products meet company standards and industry regulations, including ASTM and ACI guidelines. Stay updated on the latest quality control practices and regulatory changes.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Extensive experience in quality control within the ready-mix concrete industry, with a background in management and oversight of batching operations. Experience with concrete batching and working with aggregate materials is highly preferred.
• Technical Skills: Strong understanding of concrete mix designs, quality control testing procedures, batching processes, and aggregate quality standards. Familiarity with relevant industry standards (ASTM, ACI).
• Leadership: Proven ability to manage and lead teams, with experience overseeing operations across multiple locations.
• Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail, with the ability to conduct precise tests and measurements. Ability to identify and correct quality issues promptly.
• Problem Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to mix designs, materials, and equipment.
• Communication: Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers, team members, and management.
• Safety Commitment: Demonstrated commitment to safety, with a proactive approach to maintaining a safe work environment.
• Reliability: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. A strong commitment to reliability and punctuality.
