Job DescriptionOur team is seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient resource to lead the development and strategic growth of our core RWD Capabilities. Our team focuses on designing solutions to democratize the use of real-world data (RWD) and our use cases span across multiple divisions, from early discovery to market access. We are at a pivotal stage of growth, requiring someone with both strong technical expertise and exceptional communication skills to drive engagement and align diverse stakeholder needs. This role is key to shaping the future of how we leverage real-world data at AbbVie, working at the intersection of software development, data science, and business strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build end-to-end solutions for the business clients as stand-alone tools, capabilities. or part of software that can be incorporated into other tools.
- Data engineering, data cleaning, and building visualizations are a core job requirement.
- Product ownership, project management, and stakeholder engagement are fundamental to the success of this role.
- Establish and maintain relationships across a diverse range of stakeholders from various divisions, including Discovery, Precision Medicine, Epidemiology, Health Economics, Medical Affairs, and Commercial Sales.
- Act as the primary point of contact as the data scientists on your projects and understand the breath of work the team delivers as a RWD envoy.
- Prioritize development efforts by understanding business needs and translating them into actionable plans for: software development, capability improvement, or data engineering.
- Design and scope new features in collaboration with the development team, aligning software capabilities with business objectives.
- Assess the technical complexity of stakeholder requests, clearly communicating the feasibility and setting expectations with business units.
- Provide detailed feedback to data scientists for more complex, high-touch projects where software development may not be able to immediately fulfill the need.
- Bachelor's with 5+ years of experience or Master's with 4+ years of experience preferably in fields like Software Engineering, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a similar technical domain.
- Healthcare or RWD Experience: Knowledge of the healthcare or pharmaceutical industries and experience working with real-world data is highly desirable.
- Proficient in Python and SQL: Must have strong working knowledge of these languages to engage effectively with development teams.
- Understanding of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle): Experience working in or managing teams within a development cycle, from planning to deployment.
- Familiarity with Data Analytics: Basic understanding of data science workflows and tools, with an ability to bridge the gap between data scientists and business stakeholders
- Exceptional Communication Skills: Ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and gather requirements across diverse teams.
- Strong Relationship Building: Demonstrated success in building strong, collaborative relationships across different business functions.
- Adaptability: Capable of pivoting between high-level strategy and detailed, hands-on project execution as required by the team and stakeholders.

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentive programs.
