The Fountain Group is currently seeking an Inspection Technician for a prominent client of ours. This position is located in Portland, ME. Details for the position are as follows:
Payrate: $22/hr W2
Job Title: Inspection Technician
Location: Portland, ME
Duration: 3 months contract with possible extension based on performance/business needs.
1st shift: 7am – 3:30pm (Mon-Fri)
Job Description:
Performs work required to ensure incoming material quality is maintained at standards set forth by the Company. The focused areas include incoming inspection, testing, auditing, and documentation of materials purchased.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Inventory software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

Job Description:

- Perform incoming testing for purchased materials.
- Manage discrepant material process for materials not meeting performance criteria.
- Maintain all laboratory equipment.
- Calibrate appropriate QC laboratory equipment according to schedule
- Work to ensure incoming materials are released on time and according to schedule.
- Assist Supervisor/Manager in troubleshooting and other projects, as necessary.
- Provide support with technical and quality issues as needed.
- Perform gauge R&R's and other inspection method qualifications as required.
- Provide input and assist in updating SOPs.
- Maintain area compliance per FDA, ISO, and OSHA requirements.

Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- ASQ certified inspector desired.
- Minimum two years’ experience in a regulated industry desired.
- One to three years’ experience in Quality Control is desired.
