This position will work Monday thru Friday, 5:30 am to 1:30pm with half-hour lunch break.
JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction supervision of the Director of Health Information, the Providence Place Receptionist performs a variety of switchboard and receptionist duties. Must be able to fluently communicate in or to take or give direction or guidance in the English language.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITY
The Providence Place Receptionist must have a working knowledge of good receptionist practices and procedures and the ability to maintain good rapport with residents and staff of the Care Center. Must possess good written and oral communication skills, being able to understand written and oral instructions. The Providence Place Receptionist will possess a genuine interest in and concern for geriatric, chronically ill, and/or disabled persons.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Regular attendance is considered an essential function of this position and is necessary for the efficient operation of the business.
- Answers and screens incoming telephone calls in a professional and courteous manner.
- Greets and checks in the public in a courteous manner provides information to inquiries, and directs clients as needed.
- Performs routing clerical functions, including typing, and computer inputting duties.
- Accurately monitors the emergency call system as well as the exit security cameras.
- Effectively utilizes pager, logs, and telephone systems to contact appropriate staff as required.
- Receives and distributes mail and the daily census.
- Effectively and on a timely basis, directs emergency crews and staff to location of emergencies; places elevators on a hold status during emergencies.
- Refunds monies lost in vending machines.
- Distributes employee and guest meal tickets; forwards guest monies to the business office.
- Maintains a petty cash fund.
- Participates in "in-service" education and training.
- Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining good rapport with interdepartmental and intradepartmental personnel and effective communication with medical staff and other departmental personnel.
- Prepares daily census sheets and maintains patient armbands and door tags.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
