Records Retention Clerk

Job Summary
The Records Retention Clerk is responsible for organizing, managing, and maintaining physical and electronic records in compliance with company policies and legal requirements. This role is entry-level, perfect for an organized and detail-oriented individual looking to start a career in records management. The position requires proficiency in basic computer skills and the ability to work on-site in Philadelphia for 2-3 days per week.
Responsibilities
- Records Management: Organize, file, and manage physical records as well as electronic documents, ensuring proper retention and easy retrieval.
- Data Entry: Accurately input information into digital records management systems, maintaining data integrity and confidentiality.
- Document Retrieval: Respond to requests for specific records by retrieving documents from physical and digital storage.
- Compliance: Assist with maintaining compliance by following all company policies and legal requirements related to records retention.
- Inventory Management: Track and manage records inventory, organizing records for disposal or archiving based on retention schedules.
- General Office Duties: Perform clerical tasks such as photocopying, scanning, and filing documents, as well as occasional lifting and moving of boxes weighing up to 20 lbs.
Requirements and Experience
- Proficiency in Computer Skills: Basic computer literacy is required, including familiarity with Microsoft Office and data entry applications.
- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail to ensure accurate records management.
- Good Communication Skills: Ability to clearly communicate with team members and respond effectively to record requests.
- Availability: Willingness and ability to work in Philadelphia on-site for 2-3 days per week.
Education
- High School Diploma or Equivalent: Required for consideration for this entry-level role.
Physical Requirements
- Mobility: Ability to lift boxes up to 20 lbs., bend, stoop, and perform physical tasks associated with handling physical records.
