The Recovery Support Specialist Day provides essential support to individuals recovering from substance use disorders, focusing on helping clients with their activities of daily living and building the skills necessary for sustained recovery and independent living.
Duties and responsibilities:
· Assist clients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, meal planning, and household management
· Support clients in developing and maintaining daily routines that promote recovery
· Help clients build life skills such as budgeting, time management, and job searching
· Accompany clients to appointments and community activities as needed
· Assist in connecting clients with community resources and support services
· Arrange transportation for clients when necessary
· Collaborate with the treatment team to support client recovery goals
· Monitor client progress and report observations to clinical staff
· Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client interactions and progress
· Participate in team meetings and contribute to care planning
Qualifications:
Required:
· High School diploma or GED equivalent
· Minimum of 1 year experience working in a human services or healthcare setting
Preferred
· Associate’s degree
· Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders
· Knowledge of recovery principles and evidence-based practices in addiction treatment
