Overview
COMPANY SUMMARY:
This position performs a wide variety of maintenance duties including preventative, emergency, cosmetic and routine maintenance and regular inspections. Nature of work requires emphasis on safe work practices, sustained physical effort, trouble shooting, problem solving, attention to detail, customer service and time management.
SUMMARY OF THE POSITION:
Under the direction of the Recreation Director and Manager, the Recreational Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the planning and coordinating of activities of Residents. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication experience and interest in working with youth and knowledge of the community resources. Must be a role model for the youth and be able to help youth achieve goals with some directions and guidance.
Responsibilities
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS
- Work with children of all ages
- Assist recreation director in all correspondence relating to the recreation dept
- Assist with planning field trips
- Encourage and promote usage of the Recreation Center throughout the community
- Rectify basic problems in Recreation Center
- Help children with homework, afterschool activities, such as art, exercise and development skills
- Assist with cleanup, and checkout toys, pool sticks, and games
- Assist with issuing recreation ID Cards, have everyone to check in with ID
- Assist with implementing and enforcing rules and regulations as governed by Directors
- Must adhere to timeline of Recreation Center, open on time, and close on time
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
- Have resident’s sign in, and make sure resident’s name matches owner/resident list
- Note guests of resident and their ages
- Monitor and make sure all pool rules are followed
- Children under the age of 14 must be under the continuous supervision of a responsible adult. Adults are 18 years of age and older
- Make sure pool area and the restrooms are clean at all times
- Establish and provide rules and regulations for all tenants
- Develop monthly activity calendar
Qualifications
SKILL
- Problem Sensitivity/ Deductive Reasoning — Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong and then apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
- Written Comprehension and Expression — Ability to read, understand and communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand.
- Oral Comprehension and Expression — Ability to listen to, understand and speak so others can understand ideas and information presented verbally.
EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of 1 (one) year working in a similar program.
- Demonstrated knowledge of youth activities and rules.
Physical Environment/ Requirements
- This position deals with outside personnel such as residents and clients on a regular basis with contact in various forms such as in person, phone and email.
- The location of the position changes frequently form indoors to outdoors as site visits are necessary. However, extreme environmental conditions do not exist.
- It is sometimes necessary to deal with unpleasant or angry people with the need to problem solve difficult situations.
- It is necessary to adapt to a frequently changing environment.
- Sitting and standing is as needed.
- It is necessary for the position to travel independently to property locations on a regular basis.
Pay Range: $27.00/Hr. - $35.00/Hr.
