Recreation Program Manager - City of O'Fallon

The City of O'Fallon is looking for a self-motivated, customer-service oriented team member for the position of Recreation Program Manager. This position plays an important role in the coordination of several areas of the recreation programming for the City of O'Fallon. Our Recreation Program Managers earn competitive starting salary of $62,524.80.. We're looking for someone who has the desire to use their strong management skills to oversee all aspects of the operations and recreation programs in multiple areas. This person should have knowledge of the management of recreation facilities, including recreation program development and implementation. He or she should also have the flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends, and be able to respond after hour emergencies.

As a Recreation Program Manager, your duties and responsibilities will include:

• Developing, organizing, managing and evaluating recreation programs and special events in multiple areas.
  
• Recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, coaching, supervising, disciplining and evaluating assigned full and part time personnel.
• Creating, monitoring and assessing recreation program budgets for assigned areas.
• Developing all formal bids for programs and projects.
• Responding to after-hours emergencies.
• Responding to and assisting staff in managing customer complaints and concerns.
• Compiling, analyzing, reporting and maintaining program, staffing and financial data.
• Coordinating required training events for assigned areas.
• Recommending policy and operational improvements.
• Assisting in overseeing the operations of the recreational complex, as assigned.

Applicants must:

• Have previous supervisory experience, preferably 5 years or more, experience in youth programming is a plus
  
• Possess knowledge and a level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate degree
• Possess a valid Missouri State driver's license
• Be able to work nights, weekends, holidays or other irregular hours, as required
• Be able to obtain a first-aid/CPR card
• Possession of or ability to readily obtain State Childcare License
• Certified Parks and Recreation Professional Certification preferred
