Essential Functions:

Recreation Centers
Assists in conducting recreation programs and activities.
Assists recreation staff in conducting sports, games and events.
Organizes arts and crafts at a recreation facility
Conducts and organizes story-telling sessions for children.
Organizes social gatherings and community programs.
Sets up for program activities and serves as an on-site assistant.
Maintains facilities and equipment.
Assists staff by making needed equipment available, and monitors use.
Observes and/or participates in activities.
Assists in maintaining order in compliance with established rules.
Provides routine information on facility rules and division activities to participants and the public.
Porter Sanford Performing Arts Center
Schedules and coordinates private rentals of center, administers rental contracts, and collects fees and payments.
Provides administrative duties and support, answers phones, greets and directs visitors, schedules appointments, responds to inquiries, and orders supplies.
Maintains equipment, troubleshoots problems, and schedules outside maintenance for equipment malfunctions.
Prepares and processes a variety of administrative and financial records, reports, invoices, forms, purchase orders and other documents related to facility rental and usage
Little Creek Horse Farm
Assists in providing basic stable services, including, cleaning stables, feeding, and watering horses, turning out and bringing in horses, and maintaining grounds and pasture.
Operates equipment to maintain inside and outside riding arenas.
Maintains indoor barn area and restrooms clean and advises supervisor when supplies are needed.
Checks pastures and fences daily and reports any issues to supervisor.
May repair fences and horse stalls using hand tools.
Monitors the health of horses and reports any concerns to supervisor.
Assists with moving horses for transport or with other handling as requested.
Monitors visitors and boarders and addresses or informs supervisor of any unsafe and inappropriate activities by visitors or boarders.
Arabia Mountain
Greets and provides information to visitors; maintains public outreach information and exhibits; answers phones; and responds to complaints.
Maintains the Nature Center grounds including bathroom cleaning, trash pick-up, mulching, and indoor office organization.
Assists in tours and educational programs, interpretative activities, and special events as needed.
Performs trail and grounds maintenance activities, assists with service projects and volunteer trail workdays.
Performs clerical and administrative tasks in support of the Nature Center office and operations.
Assists public safety officers in emergency situations
Sugar Creek Golf and Tennis Center
Open and closes facilities; and ensures club house, tennis courts and driving range are ready of use.
Stages golf carts for use during the day and returns golf carts to storage at the end of the day.
Cleans and washes golf carts as directed by supervisor.
Registers players and sells merchandise in the club house pro-shop.
Operates equipment to pick-up golf balls and prepares them for reuse at the driving range.
Helps coordinate play by directing golfers and tennis players when to start and communicating golf course and tennis court rules and regulations
Maintains parking lot, club house grounds, tennis courts and driving range clean and litter free.
Provides customer service for visitors.
Provides routine maintenance and upkeep of facilities.
Assists in preparing for scheduled events such as tennis, golf tournaments and club house events.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be 18 years or older.
High School diploma or GED required; previous equivalent experience preferred, e.g., working with children or parks and recreation experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Specific License or Certification Required: Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.
