This position involves varied complex and confidential tasks essential to the efficient operations of the organization's human resource and training and development function. Strong collaboration and engagement skills are needed at all levels. The Human Resources Specialist will support the Human Resources team by doing special projects, assisting with general administrative duties regarding benefits, training, and other general responsibilities. Good judgment, self-motivated, critical, strategic and responsible decision making are essential in this position. Working with minimal supervision.
Provides support to the HR Department and works collaboratively to meet the needs of the HR department.
Conducts initial research, planning and/or follow up support for the HR Department
Creates documents under the direction of the VP of Human Resources.
Conducts, oversees and documents employee orientation and on boarding
Oversees assessment and revision of required legal and policy-related paperwork and processes under the direction of VP of Human Resources.
Manages employee records and course registration in the Learning Management System.
Assists in the identification, research, and planning of HR projects.
Implements one-time and ongoing projects, under direction of the VP of Human Resources.
Works collaboratively to meet the needs of the HR Department.
Demonstrates knowledge of human resources policies and procedures and models adherence.
Works closely with HR staff to ensure seamless delivery to internal customers.
Assists employees with personnel information and interpretation of HR policies and procedures.
Observes corporate confidentiality at all times.
Displays professionalism when representing HCN and its HR Department throughout the
Organization and in public or professional meetings and events.
Manage communication by answering telephones, verifies employment status and assist employees with time and attendance questions.
Responsible for verifying all required DEA, NOI, OIG, state licenses and assure proper completion of all facets of the application.
Responsible for peer reference requests.
Processes Florida New Hire reports as required by law.

Maintaining employee personnel files to ensure legal compliance
Assisting with the creation of training manuals, HR manual, and employee handbook.
Performs other duties as requested
