Recycling Maintenance Tech

Position Summary:
Diagnose, adjust, repair, or overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment, such as balers, equipment (forklifts, etc), and conveyors, used in recycling production.
Essential Functions/Position Responsibilities:
- Assists in repairing and maintaining machinery and mechanical equipment: Carries tools and equipment to and from storage and working areas.
- Responsible for adjusting, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical components of plant equipment.
- Will be help to make modifications to equipment where needed and to make improvements or changes in the operation as directed.
- Performs preventative maintenance as needed.
- Responsible for the lubrication of the equipment and seeing that sufficient supply of lubricant is provided to the Line.
- Operates and uses mechanical hand tools, shop tools, precision measuring instruments, gas and electric welders.
- Pulls handles to raise materials and tools to working levels.
- Loosens bolts to dismantle machinery.
- Cleans machines with sandpaper, solvent, and wiping rags to prepare surfaces for painting.
- Oils and greases machines
- Follow all company policies per Employee Handbook & Code of Conduct.
- Follow all company safety guidelines.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Hiring Requirements/Preferences:
- High school education or equivalent (additional experience may be substituted for education
- Minimum of six (6) months experience operating and/or performing maintenance on various machinery
- Professional Attitude & conduct
- Multi-task, interpersonal communication, problem solving, and time management skills are needed.
- High degree of safety awareness and safety discipline
- Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors and the general public at all times.
- Willing to travel and work away from home when and if required.
- Be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
- Strictly adhere to safety requirements and the policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Have the willingness to work in a team environment and assist co–workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by PRATT Safety and OSHA.
- Be at least age 18 years of age due to nature of working environment.
- You will be expected to be flexible to the needs of our business, as we continually strive to meet and exceed the needs of our customers.
- Random and Suspicion Drug tests are performed
