About the Job
We are seeking a dedicated Sorter to join our team for a recycling yard in Montebello, Ca. The Sorter will be responsible for organizing and separating materials efficiently to ensure proper recycling and waste management.
**Sorting recyclables is not a glamorous job but it’s a necessary one that helps keep our community clean.**
- Inspect materials and sort items or materials into designated areas of recycling.
- Perform cleaning duties and general housekeeping related to the work site.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area and surrounding area.
- Dump boxes and containers of material into the designated area(s).
- Maintain an excellent attendance record and an excellent safety and work quality record.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Ability to work outside in rain or shine.
- Bilingual in Spanish REQUIRED
Required:
- Pass background check
- Pass drug test
- Reliability
Job Type: Full-time.
Pay: From $18.00 per hour.
Expected hours: 40-45 per week.
Schedule:
- Mon-Fri: 8 AM-4:30 PM.
- Sat: (Required) 8 AM-1:30 PM.

Duties:
- Sort and segregate materials such as paper, plastic, glass, and metal for recycling purposes.
- Inspect materials to identify and remove contaminants.
- Assist in the maintenance and cleanliness of the sorting area.
- Perform heavy lifting tasks as required.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize sorting processes.
Qualifications:
- Experience in waste management or recycling industry is a plus.
