We’re hiring for a Referral Specialist to assist with coordinating the patient referral needs; assisting with patient referrals, provides excellence in customer service; assisting with client referrals to outside service providers; providing support for staff as assigned by suite lead. Location: Fresno, California
Pay Rate: $21.00/Hr.
Shift: Day; Mon-Fri, 8AM – 5PM

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Coordinates patient referrals as directed by physician in a timely manner.
- Obtains prior authorizations as determined by the insurance companies.
- Assists or schedules the appointment with the specialist, radiology department or surgical center as ordered by physician.
- Follows up to verify appointment was made and patient kept appointment.
- Communicates any delays or problems with referrals as needed.
- Communicates effectively and efficiently with physicians and support staff.
- Accurately documents all his/her patient care in the medical chart in Epic.
- Assures the patient has all the information and instructions regarding the appointment or procedure.
- Is adaptable in altering approach and level of support needed to work effectively with all providers.
- Consistently maintains quality standards established by health care regulations and guidelines.
- Promptly notifies the Department Lead and/or provider of any unusual occurrences in the patient or unusual activity in the clinic; follows through as advised.
- Consistently follows established safety policies and procedures.
- Adheres to policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Provides highest quality of customer service.
- Other duties as assigned by the Department Lead and/or Administration.
Certification:
- High school degree or equivalent required
- Completion of accredited Medical Office Assistant Program a plus.
