Refrigeration Facilities Supervisor - Johnson Service Group

Johnson Service Group, Inc. has a need for a  Facilities Supervisor will be responsible for maintaining the Process Safety Management (PSM) program, the Risk Management Program (RMP) as well as the Process Hazard Analysis team of the facility. The Supervisor maintains these programs as required by federal, state and local law. Additionally, the Supervisor provides training programs to the refrigeration department staff, and others as needed on maintenance issues including mechanical integrity, and the need to understand interpretations of construction and safety codes as related to operating an ammonia system in a safe and efficient manner. Performs work in a manner that complies with all federal, state, local, IIAR, RETA, SQF, and company rules and regulations and with optimum regard to plant safety. Ensures the safety of all employees, contractors, visitors and the community in and around our facility. The Facilities Supervisor is responsible for the entire facility as it relates to pipes, wall, floors, and external environment, and for GA only the wastewater treatment facility. Essential Job Functions 

• Maintains a compliant PSM & RMP program at the facility.
• Participates in ammonia system operations as necessary.
• Develops, or assists in developing, organizes, schedules and conducts training programs for the refrigeration system, hazmat team, confined space entry and rescue team.
• Develops and reviews the SOP's for the refrigeration system, ensures that all P&ID's are up to date.
• Reviews all PM's for mechanical Integrity compliance, ensures that all piping is labeled, and valve numbers are in place and accurate.
• Maintains all PSM documentation and training records that pertain to the PSM & RMP program.
• Organizes schedules and conducts PSM meetings, compiles and maintains PSM action item logs, assists in completing items on the action item log.
• Inspects and maintains the HazMat equipment in accordance with 29CFR 1910.119
• Oversees and manages Anhydrous Ammonia Refrigeration Systems including monitoring and trending, troubleshooting and repairs (Compressors, condensers, fans, microprocessors, frequency drives, etc.).
• Conducts plant processes in a GMP environment including Blast Freezing Equipment along with temperature-controlled environments for food storage.
• Ensures all chemical equipment for water treatment is working properly so condensers run efficiently
• Works closely with production, maintenance, and warehouse personnel to effectively resolve and eliminate plant and process problems.
• Communicates all pertinent information regarding system operation and maintenance to all plant management.
• Works in conjunction with maintenance and other refrigeration technicians to cross train on system maintenance to obtain adequate coverage across all shifts.
• Develops and manages standard operating procedures, daily work schedules and duty cycles for all repairs and maintenance, relating to refrigeration equipment.
• Understands and interprets plans and specifications, schematics, operating and maintenance manuals for refrigeration systems.
• Manages the steam boilers, air compressors, air dryers and sprinkler systems.

Education/Training:
Required:

• High School degree

Preferred:

• BA/BS in technical field
• RETA (CARO and/or CIRO) GCAP trained

Experience/Knowledge/AbilitiesRequired:

• 5-8 years related experience (maintenance, refrigeration maintenance and supervisor responsibilities)
• Technical knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems
• Working knowledge of FDA, OSHA and environmental food manufacturing standards

Preferred:

• 8-10 years related experience (maintenance, refrigeration maintenance and supervisor responsibilities)
• Food manufacturing experience
• PSM knowledge and experience
• Management experience with a computerized preventative maintenance program
