Job Description:
- Must have good moral character, excellent work ethic, and integrity; be honest, teachable, customer-service oriented, a team player, and have a positive, enjoyable attitude.
- Prefer minimum of 1 years’ experience working in Refrigeration as a Technician and/or Installer.
- Demonstrates mechanical, electrical and technical aptitude.
- Full knowledge of all areas of light commercial refrigeration, including walk-in coolers, walk-in freezers, ice machines and other light commercial equipment involving refrigeration.
- Installation of light commercial refrigeration equipment as noted above, as well as draft beverage equipment/systems, as needed.
- Respond to service calls to trouble shoot and diagnosis issues relating to refrigeration and beverage equipment, and complete repair of equipment, including replacement of compressors, evaporators, condensing units, contactors,rs, relays, disconnect, thermostat, fans, etc.
- Preventative maintenance and service of refrigeration and beverage equipment.
- Must be able to perform the following tasks: Soldering, Brazing and Recovery
- Strong communication skills for interaction with customer at time of initial visit, relay clearly any issues and/or resolution needed, and communicate work completed at end of service visit.
- Excellent customer service skills, including pleasant personality for interaction with customers, employees and suppliers.
- Operate and maintain a clean, organized and safe vehicle; monitor oil changes, tire rotation, and other service as needed; communicate with office for any vehicle maintenance issues and/or needs.
- Responsible to keep van stocked with specific parts inventory.
- Ability to efficiently and effectively use a mobile device with apps, including entering of time entries, thorough work orders/service call notes and parts list, correct spelling and punctuation, and accuracy of information, as well as other items/apps as needed.
- Opportunity to earn spiffs on accessories and other services as sold by technician.
- Will be expected to possess all necessary hand tools relating to refrigeration.
- In order to successfully perform the essential functions of this position, the employee is regularly required to drive, stand, walk quickly, sit, climb, balance, bend, kneel, reach with hands and arms, etc. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
- Live in or willing to relocate to the Tampa, Florida area (Hillsborough or Pinellas County preferred); office headquarters are located in Largo, Florida.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- EPA Certification Required.
- Good driving habits and clear Motor Vehicle Record (generally up to 5 years); ability to drive daily to job sites.
- This is a five-day work week, Monday-Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (or equivalent to 8 hours); overtime may be required, as needed. Further, must be available for “On Call” after-hours service, on a rotating schedule, and be available to occasionally work flexible shifts (i.e. early mornings, late evenings, Saturdays/weekends).
- Good hygiene and cleanliness is required at all times; employee to keep an extra uniform in van at all times and change during day, as needed.
- Must adhere to company uniform policy.
- Drug-free work place; no alcohol consumption and/or under the influence of any substance while on the job.
- Must follow Employee Handbook policies.
