This is a remote (virtual) field-based sales position,, however must be located east of the Rockies, ideally IN, MI, OH, KY, PA, ME and Northeast
Essential Job Functions:
- Develop and implement growth strategy for selected territory and accounts, aligned with assigned goals & objectives.
- Collaborate with Mazuri Sales team and Leadership to develop go-to-market strategies (e.g. lead development, account management and execution).
- Increase MazuriĀ® feed market share and value-added in assigned region (e.g. increasing overall sales volume, upselling, and transitioning customers to newer/regional alternatives).
- Provide technical information, nutritional solutions, and training to end users, retailers & distributors, internal partners (e.g. diet recommendations and nutrition of exotic animals).
- Execute essential sales activities beyond assigned region (e.g. product inquiry, contract management, process complaints, Salesforce entry)
- Perform through collaborative relationships and superior communication skills with direct and cross-functioning teams (Mazuri team, Customer Service, Purina Sales, Purina Inside Sales etc.)
- Develop positive relationships with industry professionals and remain current on exotic animal industry trends & knowledge.
- Support event selling at industry meetings, trade shows and other events.
- Flexible workhours to accommodate for multiple time-zones in assigned region.
- Travel is required in this position. The amount of travel will be dependent on the customer base served, industry conferences & team meetings. Range from 25-50% overnight.
Education and Experience:
- BS degree Animal Science or related field required; Masters degree preferred.
- 3 years of previous sales and account management experience.
- Experience in animal nutrition and working with animals. Exotic animals preferred.
- Fluency with use of technology to facilitate job responsibilities, including Microsoft Office programs, Salesforce, social media, and other web-based technologies .
- Must be able to lift and carry 50 lb. bags of feed as needed.
This is a sales role that is compensated with a target mix of base salary plus incentives. Approximate base salary range is 78K-115K. Incentives are driven by individual and team performance.
