Regional Assistant of Maintenance Services - Recover-Care Heartland

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1.    SupervisoryResponsibilities

1.     Oversee and prioritize projects and daily functions as needed if warranted.

•       Enforcesfacilitypolicieswithauthoritytoissue Action Reportsasneeded.

2.    Utilizes and maintains TELS online reporting programaccordingtoRecover-Carepolicyandprocedure.

•          Prioritizesworkorders.  Participatesinrepairworksuchasmasonry,carpentry,painting, plumbing,electrical,andHVAC.

•          Schedules,delegates,orcompletesworkorders.

3.    PreventativeMaintenance

•          Utilizes and follows the TELS preventive maintenanceschedules.

4.    Liftsand/ormovesequipment,supplies,andfurnishingsasrequired.

5.     Assuresbuildingandsafetycodesareadheredto.

6.    Coordinatesmaintenanceserviceswithallotherdepartmentsandservices.

7.    Completesformsandreportsasrequired.

8.    Complies withlawsand regulations applicabletopositionandactsin accordancewith ComplianceProgram.

9.    Treatsallresidents,visitors,andstaffwithcourtesy.

10.  Followsdressandhygienepolicies.

11.  Safety

•          Knowsandfollowsfacilityrules.

•          Followsfacilitysmokingpolicies.

•          Reportsanddocumentsanyincidentsoraccidentsofresidents,stafforvisitorstotheappropriatefacilitypersonnel.

•          Reportsallhazardousconditions/equipmenttoAdministrator, Regional Vice President or Reginal Maintenance Director.

12.  Usesrequiredprotectiveequipment.

•          Followsinfectioncontrolstandards,policies,andprocedures.

13.  Resident Rights

•          KnowsResidentRights.Helpstheresidents/patientsexerciseand/orprotecttheirrights.

•          Reportsresident/patientcomplaintstomanagement.

•          Maintainsconfidentialityofresident/patientinformation.

14.  HIPAA

•          Follows and adheres to procedures implementing HIPAA requirements for the privacy and security of protected health information.

•          Uses and/or discloses only minimum amount of Protected Health Information necessary to complete assigned tasks. (Applies only if position requires access to PHI under Role BasedAccessGrid.)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:Highschooldiplomaorequivalentpreferred.

Experience:Prior maintenance experience required.

Physical Demands: 

Primary activities involve driving, walking and talking. Involves sitting and standing. 

Travel: Up to 30%

Working conditions:  outside/inside with well- lighted and well-ventilated areas.

Skills,KnowledgeandAbilities:

Must possess a current driver's license and be able to drive personal vehicle. Knowledge and ability in electricity, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, carpentry, plastering, and painting preferred. Must be 18 years of age or older. Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and complete work with a minimum of supervision. Ability to relate positively, effectively and appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers and other facility staff. Possess special interest in, and a positive attitude about, working with long-term care residents and the elderly. Ability to read, write, speak and understand English. Meets all health requirements, as required by law. Demonstrates basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company applications.
