How you make a difference:
The Regional Psychiatric Director will understand and effectively communicate and abide by the applicable standards and requirements of the company, the contracting agency and the security regulations of the institutions to which assigned. Supervise and provide care which meet or exceed the constitutional requirements of access to care, right to a professional medical judgment and right to care that is ordered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implements and monitors clinical guidelines, policies, and procedures, ensuring they meet professional standards of care, and reviews them annually for updates.
- Provides supervision through case reviews, clinical peer reviews, and direct patient care, while developing a network for localized clinical supervision.
- Leads psychiatry onboarding for new hires, facilitates monthly meetings and provides training and educational inservices for team members and partners.
- Acts as a liaison with corporate, healthcare communities, and correctional systems, while coordinating with Regional and Home Office leadership to address administrative issues and participate in company meetings.
- Conducts annual or as-needed site visits for state Dept of Corrections contracts and participates in on-call rotations for psychiatric services as required.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from an accredited university
- Psychiatry training from an ACMG-accredited residency program.
Experience
- At least three years of direct patient care experience, preferably in a correctional institution.
- Two or more years of clinical supervisory/leadership experience in corrections preferred.
Licenses/Certifications
- Licensed to practice medicine in the state of employment.
- Board-certification in in Psychiatry is preferred.
Additional Details :Position will be 16-24 hours per week.
