Job Summary
The Regional Equipment Manager assumes a pivotal role in driving the execution of equipment operations across the assigned region. This encompasses ensuring the secure, streamlined, and fiscally rewarding utilization of our complete company fleet. With a keen focus on resource optimization, this role involves seamless interaction with project teams, preconstruction units, and the Equipment Services team, strategically coordinating fleet allocation across all sectors within the designated region.
Key Responsibilities
1. Act as a primary point of contact for project teams, ensuring clear communication and coordination of construction equipment availability, timely delivery, and operational support. Collaborate with preconstruction teams to assess equipment needs and selection options.
2. Assist in sourcing and securing rental equipment when required, aligning with project-specific needs and timelines.
3. Collaborate closely with project teams and preconstruction departments to efficiently allocate equipment resources, taking into account project requirements and availability.
4. Contribute to the development and management of the regional equipment budget, monitor expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and optimize equipment utilization to achieve profitability targets. Utilize deep comprehension of equipment financial data for informed decision-making.
5. Coordinate the acquisition of new construction equipment based on thorough assessment of projected utilization, financial considerations, and operational benefits, contributing to the organization's growth and efficiency.
6. Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive strategies for efficient equipment management, maintenance, and utilization across the designated region, ensuring optimal performance and cost effectiveness.
7. Effectively manage relationships with third-party fuel suppliers, vendors, and manufacturers to ensure reliable procurement of parts, services, and technical support.
8. Enforce stringent safety standards and practices for equipment operation, maintenance, and storage, ensuring adherence to industry regulations and company policies.
9. Establish, reinforce, and uphold a high standard of care to maintain a world-class equipment fleet, setting industry-leading benchmarks for equipment management practices.
10. Facilitate inter-job inspections to ensure equipment readiness, safety compliance, and seamless transitions between projects.
11. Lead, mentor, and guide area equipment teams, comprising superintendents, engineers, mechanics, and fuel technicians, fostering a collaborative and high-performing workforce.
12. Maintain exceptional understanding of equipment operations, maintenance, safety protocols, troubleshooting techniques, and repair methodologies through ongoing training and education.
13. Monitor equipment performance, fuel consumption, maintenance schedules, and repair needs to maximize uptime, extend equipment lifespan, and minimize downtime. Utilize thorough analysis of fluid data, fault codes, and telematics information to proactively maintain operational integrity.
14. Utilize equipment management software and data analytics to track equipment utilization, maintenance history, and performance metrics, enabling informed decisions and enhancing operational efficiency.
Minimum Job Requirements
1. Bring a proven track record of at least 10 years in supervising equipment maintenance and repairs within a contractor or dealership setting, underlining your seasoned leadership and industry acumen.
2. Command a strong skill set in Microsoft Office Suite programs, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, exemplifying your ability to leverage technology for effective communication and data management.
3. Demonstrate a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a journeyman mechanic, highlighting advanced technical prowess in equipment diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair.
4. Display a flexible mindset, including a willingness to travel as needed and embrace flexible work hours, showcasing your dedication to accommodating project demands and time-sensitive obligations.
5. Exhibit superior communication abilities, engaging effectively with diverse stakeholders throughout the workday. Utilize various communication tools such as phone, text, email, chat, and video conferencing to ensure seamless collaboration and understanding.
6. Hold a valid AEMP (Association of Equipment Management Professionals) EMS (Equipment Management Specialist) certification or CEM certification, showcasing your specialized knowledge in equipment management practices.
7. Possess a High School diploma as a minimum requirement; a bachelor's degree or master's degree in a related field is preferred, indicating a commitment to comprehensive knowledge.
8. Showcase demonstrated proficiency in effectively utilizing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems to streamline equipment maintenance, inventory management, and related functions, contributing to operational efficiency.

Physical Requirements
1. Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.)
2. May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis
3. May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis.
4. May use telephone, computer system, email, or other electronic devices to communicate with internal and external customers or vendors.
5. Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures.
6. Occasionally will climb stairs, ladders, etc.
7. Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis.
8. Will interact with people frequently during a shift/work day.
9. Will lift, push or pull objects up to 50Ibs on an occasional basis.
10. Will sit, stand or walk short distances for up to the entire duration of a shift/work day.
