Johnson Service Group, a nationally recognized staffing firm, is targeting a High Voltage Field Service Engineer | Atlanta, GA (Home Most Weekends) for our industrial power generation clients, local to the Atlanta, Boston, Portland and/or Las Vegas, and surrounding areas. The incumbent would be responsible for planning, executing and leading technical field assignments including installations, modifications, testing and commissioning of high voltage equipment.

- Travel: Home most weekends | Typically within several hours of your home-based facility | Travel to customer sites & service center remainder of time can be spent remote.
Responsibilities:
- Execute and supervise the installations of high voltage power delivery/distribution equipment, performing field operations, troubleshoot and repair equipment while performing preventative and corrective maintenance (this includes protection relays, HV switches, breakers, etc.)
- Perform field tests, SF6 leak detection, gas analysis, timing, contact resistance and power factors while documenting said tests and conducting inspections to determine necessary repairs, additional resources, and equipment recommendations.
- While this serves as an independent role, responsible for supervising additional contractors and electricians, while assisting in planning and coordinating team efforts.
- Compile and evaluate data, maintaining detailed records and logs while developing recommendations and preparing written reports.
- Travel estimated at 80%.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred. Extensive hands-on experience will be considered in lieu of bachelors.
- Experience working with voltages from 40kV-550kV (slight flexiblity in terms of maximum)
- 5+ years of technical experience in erection, testing, installation, and commissioning of high voltage equipment.
- Proven experience serving in leadership roles within power utilities.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics, along with knowledge of testing equipment.
- Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work within the United States.
