Position summary: Responsible for business development, financial success, strategic planning, growth, and managing staff for the transportation practice at the regional level.
Essential functions and responsibilities:
- Coordinate strategic growth plan with office leaders and practice leaders
- Establish and grow market presence in area through marketing and business development
- Manage financial budget for practice and allocate resources accordingly
- Lead and contribute to the production of proposals
- Serve as a technical expertise resource to project managers and technical staff
- Establish resources staffing needs for the practice on a regional level
- Interview and make recommendations for hiring staff for the practice
- Lead and manage team members by providing leadership and continuous performance management (setting expectations, goals, feedback, 1:1 meeting, coaching) that supports the growth and development of team.
Nonessential functions and responsibilities:
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Compensation is $175,000 to $225,000 annually or commensurate with experience, education, and certifications.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-starter with full ability to operate independently with substantial autonomy
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field from an accredited program
- Professional Engineer License or equivalent
- 15+ years’ experience in specialized discipline including supervisory, project management, and business development
- Demonstrated experience leading others
- Project management and business development experience
- Experience working with local clients at the state, county, and major municipality level
Qualification Preferred
- Master's degree in specialty field
Working Conditions:
Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
Travel to offices in the region monthly will be required to meet with office leadership and staff.
