We provide services across all age ranges. In some cases, particularly with younger learners, we focus on helping kids develop critical communication and social skills using the most effective evidence-based instructional strategies. We also work with children who have high levels of challenging behavior that interfere with their ability to participate in more typical instructional programs. Our team loves the challenge of working with these more intense children and adolescents, to help them communicate effectively, learn coping skills, and capitalize on all their unique strengths to build independence and the capacity to interact in social environments. The part-time or full-time Behavior Technician will be responsible for working one-on-one with individuals with behavior challenges and/or skill deficits, to implement behavior support plans and related programs. While already being a registered behavior technician is a plus, Insight Behavior Partnership will provide strong candidates with paid training that includes 40 hours of class work and a variety of job shadow opportunities, along with supervision from a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, to help you become a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT).
Locations throughout Denver Metro area, including Englewood, Aurora, and Littleton. Settings will vary depending upon individual assignments, and may include working in homes (most common), our new clinic (also common), and in other community settings (not as common).
Sessions are scheduled throughout the day in three hour blocks, starting at 8am and usually ending by 6:30pm. Most team members work 2-3 sessions a day throughout a Monday through Friday work week and maintain 35-40 hours/week total. Part-time employees usually work 1-2 shifts a day for at least 3 days a week and maintain 20-30 hours/week total.
Salary, Benefits, and Bonuses
For individuals who are already Registered Behavior Technicians, starting hourly rate is between $21-$25 per hour depending on experience. Individuals new to this field will first complete a paid training program to earn their RBT status, and will then normally start at $19 per hour, with regular opportunities for advancement as their skills and confidence develop.
Employees working 30+ hours/week are eligible for generous health insurance, Paid Time Off (PTO) and other benefits. We pay for all training as well as drive time during the day.
Sign-on Bonus: Employees who are already RBT's or who complete the online coursework before starting can earn up to a $500 bonus on their first paycheck. Additional bonuses up to $1,000 depending on RBT and part-time/full-time status will be paid out during the employee's first 3-6 months of employement.
We provide all behavior technicians with a tablet for running programs, communicating with team members, and collecting data electronically. Additionally, behavior technicians are given a quarterly budget which can be used to purchase reinforcers for those they work with (e.g., games, toys, etc), or other work-related supplies.
Behavior Technician Job Responsibilities
Implement skill acquisition and behavior reduction programs, as developed and directed by the supervising Behavior Analyst and outlined in the treatment plans.
Record specific data on skill acquisition and behavior in addition to documenting provider notes, incident reports, and health and safety concerns as required.
Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT's) maintain all training and continuing education requirements as set by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board, and ensure they maintain their status on the registry. All training is paid, including initial training to become an RBT, other on-boarding training, monthly team training, and ongoing, in-person supervision from a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
Requirements to Join the Insight Behavior Partnership Team
High school diploma or GED. Must be at least 18 years of age.
Prefer at least one year experience in an area directly related to job assignment (i.e., developmental disabilities, children with autism spectrum disorders, etc).
Ability to pass and maintain certification in all agency required training.
Ability to implement Applied Behavior Analytic (ABA) procedures as specified on the RBT task list ( http://bacb.com/rbt-task-list/). This includes the ability to implement structured teaching programs, positive behavior support plans, and record individual-specific data as directed.
Available to work during primary hours of need on a consistent basis, ideally Monday – Friday, though part-time staff may have up to two days during the week they are not available.
Personal vehicle in good operating condition for use during work.
Valid driver's license/proof of insurance.
Services are provided throughout the Denver Metro area, especially in areas such as Aurora and Littleton. Applicants should live in, or intend to move, to an area that allows for a reasonable commute in order to be considered for a position with us.
