Located in Fremont, Ohio, ProMedica Memorial Hospital has served the citizens of Sandusky County and the adjacent communities since 1918. In fact, our hospital was built with funds raised by members of our community on land donated by the family of former United States President, Rutherford B. Hayes.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Reports to Supervisor or Manager and has no direct reports.
POSITION SUMMARY
Perform cardiac imaging and other non-invasive cardiology procedures as performed by the Metro department where assigned.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
*All duties listed below are essential unless noted otherwise*
- Performs cardiac sonographic imaging and all necessary functions required to complete the procedure for interpretation.
- Interacts with providers as necessary for completion of the procedure.
- Performs cardiac stress testing on patients with complete knowledge of different stress protocols and the computerized capabilities of the equipment used to perform the test.
- Applies and processes Holter/event monitors. Knowledge of how to correctly set up and document test.
- Performs outpatient EKGs.
- Participates in ‘on call’ rotation for echoes and TEEs after hours (as needed for inpatient facilities).
- Serves as a resource for other technologists, students, and hospital staff.
- Able to navigate and document in Electronic Medical Record.
- Accepts shifts where assigned within the Metro Region.
- Performs other duties as directed.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Associate degree in cardiovascular technology with a focus in cardiac imaging and/or 2 years’ experience in the field of echocardiology.
- Skills: Must be able to perform a complete echocardiogram using appropriate protocol, must be able to understand directions, communicate and respond to inquiries; requires effective interpersonal skills. Must be able to differentiate colors, tolerate exposure to blood borne pathogens and body fluids, and operate cardiac ultrasound equipment, controls, machinery, and desk machines. Must be able to input and retrieve information from computer.

- License: Must be a registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer or registry eligible through ARDMS or CCI. Must pass exam within one year or obtain approved extension from department leader and HR.
- Certification: Must maintain BLS certification.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Associate degree in cardiovascular technology with a focus in cardiac imaging.
- Skills: Cardiac Sonography, Stress Testing, Holter Monitoring, Knowledge of heart rhythms.

WORKING CONDITIONS
- Personal Protective Equipment: Gloves, gowns and masks as needed.
- Physical Demands: Must be able to move about department and between workstations. Must be able to frequently move, lift and/or carry medium weight objects and materials.
