We are currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to join our team.
Position Summary:
The Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) will work closely with the pediatric dentist to provide chairside assistance during dental treatments, take digital and phosphor plate X-rays, perform sterilization duties, and help with the general flow of the office. The ideal candidate should have a passion for working with children, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Chairside Assistance: Assist the dentist during pediatric dental procedures, ensuring the patient is comfortable and prepared for treatment.
- X-Ray Taking: Take and develop digital and phosphor plate dental X-rays as per the office’s protocols and safety standards.
- Sterilization & Infection Control: Clean, sterilize, and maintain dental instruments and equipment according to OSHA guidelines.
- Chair Setup & Breakdown: Prepare treatment rooms by setting up necessary instruments and materials and clean/breakdown the room after each patient.
- Sealants Placement: Apply dental sealants on pediatric patients under the supervision of the dentist.
- Patient Care & Comfort: Ensure a positive and comforting experience for young patients by explaining procedures and maintaining a calm and friendly demeanor.
- Team Collaboration: Work efficiently with fellow staff members to ensure smooth operations and a positive patient experience.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and manage dental supplies, ensuring materials are stocked and readily available for treatments.
Qualifications:
- Must be a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) with a current license in [State].
- Previous experience in a pediatric dental office is preferred.
- Experience taking digital and phosphor plate X-rays.
- Knowledge of dental sterilization procedures and OSHA guidelines.
- Ability to place sealants on patients (required certification or training).
- Strong communication skills, especially when working with children and their parents.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Additional Requirements:
- CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Radiography certification.
- Must enjoy working with children and have a patient, friendly demeanor.
