Responsibilities:
- Perform dental hygiene procedures, including teeth cleaning, plaque removal, and fluoride application
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and offer personalized recommendations for at-home care
- Conduct patient assessments through oral health screenings and reviewing medical histories
- Record and review patient medical histories and chart conditions of decay and disease for dentist evaluation
- Take dental x-rays as required
- Assist the dentist during procedures by preparing and providing instruments and materials
- Maintain accurate and thorough patient records, including medical history, treatment plans, and progress notes in dental software
- Adhere to infection control protocols to ensure a safe, sterile environment for patients and staff
- Stay informed on current dental practices and advancements in the field
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure smooth patient flow and deliver excellent patient care
- Maintain dental equipment and sterilize instruments
Requirements:
- Valid dental hygiene license
- Associate's degree in dental hygiene or a related field
- Knowledge of medical terminology, dental anatomy, and procedures
- Familiarity with dental software systems such as Dentrix and Opendental
- Experience in dental assisting is a plus
- Proficiency in aseptic technique and infection control procedures
- Excellent communication skills to educate and interact with patients
- Attention to detail for accurate record-keeping
- Team player with a collaborative mindset

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, lean, and bend for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds as needed
Pay: From $40.00 per hour
