Title: Registered DieticianLocation:Richmond State Hospital498 NW 18th Street Richmond IN 47374Interview: WebcamA Day in the Life:The essential functions of this role are as follows: • Monitor food service operations to ensure compliance to nutritional, andsafety. • Assess nutritional needs, diet restrictions and current health plans todevelop and implement dietary-care plans and provide nutritional counseling. • Advise patients and staff on nutritional principles, dietary plans, dietmodifications, and food selection and preparation. • Consult with physicians and health care personnel to determine nutritionalneeds and diet restrictions of patient. • Record diet histories and assessments, charts, and progress notes. You must meet the following requirements to be considered for employment: • Optional requirement to be registered as a dietitian by the Academy ofNutrition & Dietetics.• Specialized knowledge of the principles, techniques and terminology of moderndietetics and institutional management gained through experience. • Working knowledge of modern methods, materials and equipment used in quantityfood service and the care necessary to conserve all resources. • Ability to plan menus and oversee personnel in modified and regular dietpreparation and service. • Ability to conduct food service and/or nutrition related training programs. • Ability to interact with treatment team, medical and administrative staff andpatients. Responsibility:While not the final authority, incumbent must exercise judgment in applyingalternatives and in conferring with medical/nursing staff and dietarysupervisors related to unusual dietary problems or concerns. Unusual problems ordeviation from guidelines are discussed with supervisor who otherwise reviewswork periodically for accomplishment of objectives. Personal Work Relationships: Works with patients, physicians and other clinical staff as required, hospitaldepartment heads, students, commercial vendors, general public and communitysector.
