About the Job
Participates in the process of diet changes and new diets as received from nursing services
Plan and evaluate programs and activities of the Food Services Department (food handling, sanitation, preparation, services, procedures and equipment)
Ensure that charted dietary progress notes are informative and descriptive of services provided and of resident's response to service
Maintain an adequate liaison with families and residents as necessary
Work with the facility’s consultants as necessary and implement recommended changes as required.
Perform all assigned tasks in accordance with our established policies and procedures, and as instructed by your supervisors.
Meet with Dietary and Nursing staff as needed, to assist in identifying and correcting problem areas, and/or the improvement of services.
Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the unit and shift.
Assist in developing preliminary and comprehensive assessments of the dietary needs of each resident
Interpret and evaluate information on a patient’s chart and make recommendations for appropriate medical nutrition therapy.
