Registered Nurse - Clinical Informaticist at The University of Vermont Health Network

Unit Description: The Clinical Informaticist, RN will identify opportunities for optimum utilization of the clinical information system workflow for clinical processes. This position requires an understanding of ambulatory and/or hospital clinical processes or patient access and revenue cycle management, depending on need. The Clinical Informaticist, RN assists the credentialed trainers and principal trainers with creating and maintaining end user training documentation for users of Epic’s clinical and clinical ancillary applications. The Clinical Informaticist, RN will function as a liaison between nursing, other clinical disciplines and Information Services, collaborate with the medical informatics team to evaluate the effectiveness and impact of clinical technologies on patient care and identify optimization opportunities. This position serves as a liaison for clinicians to facilitate a common understanding of information system needs, end user processes, interoperability, and alignment the with organizational goals.

The Clinical Informaticist, RN will have a specific focus on the Epic Optimization. This position requires the ability to work with senior clinical and medical group leaders to prioritize and plan Epic Optimization work as well as the ability to work effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses and other clinic staff during Epic Optimization planning, implementation and follow up (this includes Optimization Sprints).
