Make a difference as a Registered Nurse
As a Registered Nurse at Wasatch Behavioral Health in Orem, Utah, you will play a crucial role in providing holistic care to our patients within the Aspire Program for Adolescents. Your responsibilities will include monitoring and administering medications, educating patients on treatment compliance, and assessing the effectiveness of medications to identify adverse reactions. You will be responsible for documenting patient progress notes, processing admissions paperwork, and ensuring the accuracy of billable work hours.
Additionally, you will serve as a liaison between psychiatric patients and various medical professionals and service agencies, ensuring seamless communication and coordination of care. Your role will also involve conducting mental and physical evaluations, facilitating client applications for medication programs, and organizing medical appointments for residential clients. With a focus on promoting positive mental health habits and providing educational group sessions, you will make a meaningful impact on the well-being of our patients.

Minimum Qualifications:
- A minimum of an associate's degree in nursing from an accredited college and hold a valid license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Utah.
- Preferred qualifications include:
- Prior experience in the field of mental health.
- Some knowledge of medications used to treat psychiatric conditions, drug interactions and side effects; psychiatric diagnoses treatment and of psychotropic medications; safety procedures related to medication administration; side effects of various medications
- Patient counseling processes
- Techniques and methods; mental health care facility programs and procedures.
- Ability to recognize toxic allergic reactions; instruct or supervise other nurses; perform under adverse crisis situations; communicate verbally and in writing; develop and maintain effective working relationships with nursing supervisor, program managers, professionals, administrators, the public and co-workers.
