RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
· Verifies daily staffing and redistribution, as necessary;
· Responsible for the coordination of total resident care;
· Must have knowledge of dietetic, sanitation, and personal hygiene.
· Must have knowledge of medications, their proper dosage and expected results.
· Makes rounds, morning and night, as time allows, to assess residents condition, giving special attention to critically ill residents;
· Ensures that the individual nursing care plan is followed for each resident;
· Performs medication passes and/or direct resident care as needed;
· Participates in resident care committee meetings;
· Reinforces the training and orientation of nursing personnel and provides positive reinforcement;
· Answers any/all emergencies throughout the shift (i.e., change of resident condition or pronouncement of death);
· Assists in assuring a safe and sanitary environment for residents, employees, and visitors;
· Assures that the building is secure during the evening and night hours by checking doors and alarms according to nursing facility protocols;
· Reviews incident and investigative reports for accuracy and completeness;
· Assists in development and implementation of nursing facility Quality Improvement Program;
· Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights;
ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
· Must possess a valid RN/LPN license, in good standing in accordance with laws of this state, from an approved NJ Nursing School of Nursing.
· Comply with standards of business conduct in accordance with federal, state and local health and regulatory standards and guidelines, as applicable.
· Must possess, at a minimum, a high school diploma or a GED or at least two (2) years of experience in the healthcare field and/or related industry.
· Must be able to work well with peers in a congenial work environment, and above all, maintain the utmost compassion and dignity to the residents and adhere to the Resident Bill of Rights.
· Must maintain the highest standards in caring and servicing the needs of the residents and residents' family members and loves ones.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Per diem
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
