Description:
CHS is seeking an experienced MS/Tele RN for a night shift position in Rochester, NY. This role involves working four 12-hour shifts per week with a focus on providing comprehensive care in a short-term acute care facility. The RN will be responsible for managing a variety of complex medical and telemetry needs.

Job Details:

• Ratios:

  • Normal Ratios: Med/Surg Day and Eve 5:1, Nights 6 or 7:1
  • Stretch Ratios: Med/Surg Day/Eve 6:1, Nights 9-10:1
  • Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) available for vital signs, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and activities of daily living
  • In-house phlebotomy team handles all peripheral lab draws; nursing handles PICC lines and central lines

• Years of Experience Required: 1 year

• First-Timers Accepted: Yes

• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

• Certifications Required: BLS, NIH Stroke Scale

• On-Call Requirement: Yes, as needed

• Floating Requirement: Yes, within scope to meet facility needs; no floating outside of scope

• Block Schedule: Attempted but not guaranteed

• Locals Accepted: No

• Pending License Accepted: No

• RTO Restrictions: Maximum of 1 week RTO per contract

• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Special Requirements:

• Cardiac telemetry experience required
• Familiarity with heparin protocols, external CPAP/BIPAP, and care of ventilated patients
• Patient Diagnoses: Acute respiratory failure, CHF, COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, sepsis
• Special Equipment: BIPAP, CPAP, High Flow, Ventilators
• Epic charting experience preferred
