REGISTERED NURSE-PACU - Baptist Health Care

The Registered Nurse- PACU nurse provides care and education for the patient based on their illness, symptoms, and courses of treatment. Manages individualized, goal-directed nursing care through use of the nursing process and the principles of primary nursing in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures. The Registered Nurse-PACU performs technical skills and provides assistance to surgeons, anesthesia personnel, and other professionals in the facility. Performs similar duties in other areas of the hospital as assigned.  The Registered Nurse-PACU works under the supervision of the Charge Nurse, and the clinical manager.   She/He is responsible for the assessment, care coordination, and implementation of the post-operative care plan of the patient according to prescribed procedures. She/he utilizes post-surgical care knowledge to prepare the patient for the next level of care.  The Registered Nurse-PACU is responsible for the education post operatively.  Responsible for computer documentation during the postoperative phase of treatment.The person in this position works under general supervision, is responsible for various shifts, may be subject to over 40 hours per week and/or callback as required, and may also be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Three (3) years’ acute care or One (1) year Critical Care nursing experience is  required
• Current Licensure in the State of Florida. BLS and ACLS through American Heart Association. PALS within 6 months of employment/transfer
• Demonstrated proficiency in critical care nursing, knowledge and skills
