Emunah Hospice, formerly Vinney Hospice and Palliative Care, is looking for a reliable and devoted Registered Nurse (RN), to provide direct nursing care to hospice patients, and to supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants. The Registered Nurse (RN) must be in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility, and as may be required by the Director of Clinical Services to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is always maintained.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF REGISTERED NURSE (RN) CASE MANAGER:
- Monitoring patient vital signs, including body temperature, heart rate, respiration rate and blood pressure
- Administering medications and treatments prescribed by physicians
- Notifying physicians when they observe a change in a patient’s condition
- Counseling family members to help them know what to expect as their loved one’s condition worsens
- Making family members aware of resources like counseling and government programs
- Helping family members complete paperwork
- Updating patient records
- Adhering to infection control, standards of care and patient privacy standards
QUALIFICATIONS FOR REGISTERED NURSE (RN) CASE MANAGER: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Registered Nurse (RN) with current unencumbered state license.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Must be able to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Current, active driver's license and proof of automobile insurance.
- Must be knowledgeable of nursing & medical practices & procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities.
- Current CPR Certification is required
- Registered Nurse’s (RN’s) with Experience in Hospice or Home Health are preferred, but not required.
