Registered Nurse (RN) -- CNA Class Instructor - Dubois Continuum of Care Community

Dubois Nursing Home is looking for an RN to be the primary CNA Class Instructor for our Monthly program. Hours will be Full-Time during class periods with time off between classes. Position is temproary to start with potential to become Full - Time. Please review qualificaitons below before applying! 

Qualifications:

·        RN for at least two years with current PA license without limitations

·        At least one of the two years has been in a long-term care facility as an RN. Experience includes direct care, supervision or education in meetings resident’s psychosocial, behavioral, cognitive and physical needs

·        Resume must list the name and address of the long-term care facility in which a minimum of one year or 12 months of experience was obtained and a minimum of 200 hours over a 12 month period.

·        CHRI without prohibitive offenses or pending charges at time of employment

·        Current negative 2-step Mantoux, chest x-ray or QuantiFERON TB Gold.  An annual Mantoux is acceptable if evidence of a base-line two-step Mantoux is retained

·        Complete the Teaching-the-Educator workshop before teaching nurse aides

·        Be approved by the Department of Education

Primary Function:

·        Teach at least 51% of the total program  hours

·        Ensure the curriculum is current

Responsibilities:

·        Review curriculum at least annually and revise as need to keep up-to-date and meet current regulations

·        Review textbook, quizzes and teaching materials annually

·        Provide guidance to assistant instructors and resource instructors

·        Participate in the on-site review process conducted by the Pennsylvania Department of Education

·        Interview potential students and assist in the enrollment process

·        Provide remedial assistance to students as needed

·        Review training program policies annually and revise as needed

·        Attend quarterly NA Training program review meetings

·        Assist with resolving student issues

·        Maintain appropriate records as specified in the TTE manual by the Pennsylvania Department of Education

·        Maintain confidentiality of student information

·        Schedule classes and assign instructors

·        Assist students in scheduling for the State Competency Exam
