Opportunity: The Preprocedural Evaluation Registered Nurse (PPE RN) manages all aspects of the nursing process and the delivery of patient and family centered care, for the preoperative patient. The Registered Nurse has the responsibility and authority to request and use governing and administrative resources, technological and support systems, and multidisciplinary clinical experts necessary to manage and deliver quality, cost effective patient care. Responsibilities: As a Nurse Reviewer, you will play a critical role in managing and delivering patient-centered care. Your responsibilities will include applying your extensive nursing knowledge and skills to ensure flawless patient outcomes. Key areas of responsibility include: - Governing decisions, actions, and behaviors using MGB values such as Patients, Affordability, Accountability & Service Commitment, Decisiveness, Innovation & Thoughtful Risk. - Planning, implementing, evaluating, and managing care for all patients while considering age, developmental, socioeconomic, psychological, physical, spiritual, and cultural factors. - Maintaining competency in nursing practice and clinical skills, and making an annual plan for professional development. Validating patient identification according to hospital policy and reviewing consent and procedures. - Delegating appropriate nursing activities to unlicensed personnel based on patient stability and the capabilities of the unlicensed person. - Collecting and analyzing patient information and collaborating with the healthcare team to determine the need for further preoperative evaluation. - Communicating with staff and physicians regarding potential procedure complications or specific requirements postoperatively. - Developing and implementing discharge planning and educating patients and families in disease processes, medications, and signs/symptoms. - Ensuring timely initiation, completion, communication, and documentation of nursing care, tests, treatment, teaching, and discharge planning activities. - Consulting with Clinical Leadership for complex patient care management and discharge planning. Qualifications: - Current MA RN licensure, BSN - Bachelor's degree in Nursing - BLS Certification - Preferred 5+ years of related clinical experience
