Registered Nurse RN at Northstar Behavioral Health Network

Northstar Behavioral Health Network is a team of professionals that specialize in serving those battling substance use disorders, specifically Opioid Use Disorder and Stimulant Use Disorder. Also specializing in those needing Intensive Residential Treatment Services.

Job Duties and Responsibilities for Registered Nurse RN:(Essential Functions)

• Registered Nurse RN reports Directly to Director of Nursing
• Registered Nurse RN works with Director of Nursing to ensure compliance
• Work with DON to implement changes in nursing
• Work with Director of Nursing on QI
• Utilize nursing knowledge and skills in the safe implementation of basic preventive therapeutic and rehabilitative nursing care of assigned patients as evidenced by documentation and observation of positive patient care outcomes.
• Registered Nurse RN will perform delegated independent nursing functions using established procedures, policies, guidelines and standards.
• Registered Nurse RN will administer medication accurately, observing client response, as evidenced by documentation in the medical record and lack of negative outcomes.
• Maintain and coordinate communication among client, staff and physician as evidenced within medical record, client and health care team feedback.
• Client Admissions and discharges
• MAR audits and compliance
• Assist in assuring that effective communication exists with patients as reflected in the plan of care. Give punctual change of shift report consisting of pertinent and relevant information for assigned patients.
• Work collaboratively with other members of the health care team in coordination of the patient's care as evidenced by other department feedback.
• Answer and refer telephone calls or other inquiries to ensure accurate and timely communications are facilitated.
• Registered Nurse RN will Facilitate Health Education groups as needed.
• Registered Nurse may have other duties as assigned

• Must be licensed by the State of Minnesota as a Registered Nurse RN
• Must understand and follow NBH's Drug and Alcohol Policy
• Must pass a State of Minnesota Background Check
• CPR Certification or attain within 30 days
• Ability to use Microsoft office programs and other computer skills
• Must know and understand the implications of 245G, sections 245A.65, 626.557, and 626.5572, and Chapter 260E.
