JOB SUMMARY
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide quality nursing care in collaboration with the medical staff and within the guidelines of the New Jersey State Nurse Practice Act. It is the responsibility of the Professional Nurse to implement the Hospital's mission and goals through established policies, procedures, and performance improvement activities. Implementation of these goals occurs through organization and administration of individualized age-specific professional nursing care to patients within an assigned unit of the hospital. The understanding of the principles of growth and development will be incorporated to assess each patient's age-specific needs and determine age-specific treatment modalities.
Trinitas Intensive Care Unit is a newly expanded unit with an additional 3 beds to its previous 22 bed capacity. It is a collaborative closed 25 bed capacity mixed with medical and surgical cases under Intensivist Care Program. We provide management of acutely ill patients with life-threatening conditions requiring complex assessment, high-intensity therapies and interventions, and continuous nursing vigilance. Our care management consists of care bundles based on evidence-based practices that are executed with compassion and care.
Our Intensive Care Nurses work with all patients and their families to create healing, humane, and caring behaviors under safe environment while focusing also on patient advocacy. They are supported by a clinical nurse specialist that provides education and the opportunity to learn. They are also assisted by a clinical coordinator who takes charge 24 hours/day.
Work Experience Required:
- One (1) year plus of recent ICU experience required
Educational Skills Required Degree, Certification, License,
- Current New Jersey Professional Nurse License
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association upon hire
- Required Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of employment
- Required National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification within 1 year of employment
- Maintain Joint Commission Readiness
- Maintain CEUs
