Job Details
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to patients in labor and delivery, including monitoring vital signs, fetal heart rate, and contractions.
- Assist in the labor and delivery process, including natural births, cesarean sections, and emergency procedures.
- Educate and support patients and their families on prenatal, labor, and postpartum care.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient care and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Provide emotional support to patients and families during the birthing process.
Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in labor and delivery or a related field.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
