- JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
The position will work with our coastal physician and APP team, supporting patients throughout the continuum of Hematology/Oncology care. You'll enjoy working with your immediate team while also working collaboratively across the greater Samaritan Cancer Program.
Strong communication and organization skills are needed in this role. This is a dynamic, growing team with emphasis on supportive team relationships and a shared focus on providing exceptional care to our patients.
Travel to the main referral site for training or occasional coverage could be required, with mileage being reimbursed.
- Responsible for the management of oncology patients in an ambulatory care setting undergoing chemotherapy and various other treatments.
- DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
- The Hematology & Oncology teams at Samaritan Health Services specialize in diagnosing and treating adult cancer patients using chemotherapy, hormonal therapy and biological therapy as well as treating a range of hematologic conditions. We educate patients about their illness, the treatment options and provide supportive care during treatment and into survivorship.
- EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
- Current unencumbered Oregon RN Licensure required.
- Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN), or Associate's Degree with one (1) additional year of nursing experience in an oncology clinical setting required.
- One (1) year experience in an oncology clinical setting required.
- Healthcare Provider BLS required.
- OCN or equivalent certification required within three (3) years of hire.
