Job Summary and Qualifications

Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Manager, Perioperative Services, the Registered Nurse bases nursing care as outlined in the Standards and Recommended Practices of the Association of Peri Operative Nurses Association in the provision of safe and effective care of the surgical patient in the Operating Room. Applies knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span to identify patient and family requirements relative to age specific needs.

• The employee proactively works toward and achieves goals set in the previous evaluation period.
• Assumes responsibility for the efficient management of surgical cases to which assigned
• Adheres to standards of practice for Perioperative Nursing in the delivery of patient focused care
• Partners with the patient and other health care personnel to achieve expected sugical outcomes
• Enhances professional growth and development
• Participates in cost effective patient care activities through the judicious use of supplies in accordance to patients' needs
• Participates in performance improvement initiatives
• Performs other duties as required

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Registered Nurse
• prefer Certified Operating Room Nurse ( CNOR)
  
• Minimum of 2 years current related experience, or graduate of accreditated post graduate program for operating room technique, or successful completion of hospital based internship program.
  
• Registered Nurse Diploma, or Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree
