Registered Nurse (RN) - Pediatric Specialty Care, Pulmonology - Maine Health

For a limited time MaineHealth is offering a $10,000 Sign on bonus for all eligible Registered Nurses with up to 2 years of RN experience and $20,000 for Registered Nurses with greater than 2 years of RN work experience!

• Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time RN position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.
• Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months’ separation from employment.

This is a full time, 32-hour position. The schedule consists of 4-8 hour shifts. Some schedule flexibility is available and can be discussed if selected for an interview.

• Position Summary

Under the direction of physicians, this position is responsible for assisting with total patient care by performing clinical duties, responding to patient telephone inquiries, and coordinating care both at the office and at outside facilities.

Pediatric Pulmonology evaluates and treats infants, children, and adolescents with a wide range of lung and breathing problems including asthma, apnea, chronic lung disease and many others. This division is also home to Maine’s only cystic fibrosis clinic.

• • Collaborating with a team of physicians, advance practice providers, social workers, nurses, respiratory therapists, and medical assistants to provide clinical care.
  • Serving as an advocate in schools and in the community.
  • Providing phone and mychart triage to patients contacting the practice.
  • Obtain patient vitals and screenings for appointments.

• Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  1. Education: Completion of nursing training from an accredited school of nursing.
  2. License/Certifications: Active State of Maine Nursing License or eligible for licensure. Current BLS required
  3. Experience: Two Years of experience preferred.
  4. Knowledge of nursing processes; health care systems, structure and functions; and community resources.
  5. Knowledge of chart/medical record documentation requirements and federal/state laws related to release of health care information.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary for interacting with patients, physicians, supervisors and other staff.
  7. Skill in time management, problem solving, multitasking, prioritizing and medical care coordination.
  8. Ability to read and interpret physicians? orders and notes from other providers.
  9. Ability to calculate and administer drug dosages and injections and measure results.
  10. Ability to organize and accomplish multiple tasks and to have the flexibility to meet changing demands on a daily basis.
  11. Ability to maintain a professional manner even under stressful situations.
  12. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  13. Proficient computer skills.
