Registered Nurse (RN) - Short Stay Unit - Maine Health

For a limited time MaineHealth is offering sign on bonuses for Registered Nurses:

• Registered Nurses - New Grads to 2 years of experience: $10,000 (full time)
• Registered Nurses with more than 2 years of experience: $20,000 (full time)

Eligible candidates are hired into a Full or Part time RN position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible. Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.

Short Stay Unit

The Surgical Short Stay Unit at Maine Medical Center Biddeford Campus is a fast-paced unit within Surgical Services providing specialized post-op care for short-stay (1 night) patients. This is an exciting opportunity to work as a small team. To be successful in this busy unit, the nurse must have excellent assessment skills, follow evidence-based pathways and be able to effectively communicate with an interdisciplinary team for best patient outcomes and experience. This unit is open Monday through Friday and each shift is worked under the supervision of a shift leader/charge RN.

Medical / Surgical experience is needed

Position Summary

The Registered Nurse II - Acute Care – MMC BID SAN role is responsible for the management of patient care, including clinical nursing practice/caring, leadership, management, professionalism, and growth/development, as well as the independent assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required; BSN preferred.
2. License/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) license as a Registered Professional Nurse required. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. ICU, SCU, ED and PACU RN’s require ACLS and PALS Certifications within one year of start date or in accordance with Department guidelines. OB, NICU RN’s require NRP Certification within one year of start date or in accordance with Department guidelines. Positions that are fully remote will not require BLS.
3. Experience: One year of RN experience required. Demonstrates competency in all essential functions of a Registered Nurse – Acute Care role.
4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Annual Electronic Fetal Monitoring competency for any RN assisting Laboring Women required.
5. Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: N/A
