POSITION SUMMARY:

A Registered nurse with demonstrated interest, education, and expertise in trauma care and who, in partnership with the Trauma Medical Director and hospital administration, is responsible for coordination of trauma care at North Hills Hospital to include: active participation in the trauma performance improvement program, and the authority to positively impact care of the trauma patient in all areas of the hospital.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Licensure/certification/registration: Graduate of a Professional Nursing Program and current licensure with the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas, current CPR Healthcare provider from AHA or ARC, ACLS from AHA or ARC, TNCC and ENPC required; PALS preferred, CEN preferred.

Experience: 3 years trauma registry experience

Experience with ICD-9 Coding, medical terminology, and or physiology/disease process education

Chart review and/or data abstraction experience preferred

Special Skills & Qualifications: Ability to listen, interact and communicate verbally and in writing.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
